Safety is one of the most important issues in any type of test. A flexural test is one of the most important tests to achieve material specifications. In this paper, standard sample dose rate is calculated for graphite flexural test in Tehran research reactor. Using different standards, the dose is computed at different distances and two periods of 15 and 40 days of radiation. Calculations are done with the ORIGEN and MCNPX codes. The impurity values of the material are measured by two methods of XRF and ICP-AES. The obtained calculations show that the Claiborne & Trubey standard is more stringent than other standards and it has less than dose 2 μSv/h with observance of 100cm distance and 20 days after irradiation. Moreover, calculations of transfer chamber show that there is no limitation for the samples transport. Finally, it can be concluded that the considered method of this research also can be used for other materials at the reactor core.
